Overview

CODE2040’s Technical Applicant Prep (TAP) Program prepares Black and Latino/a students to access and succeed at acquiring employment (intern or full-time) at top tech companies. The opportunity gap faced by many aspiring Black and Latino/a technologists results from a smaller network and access to fewer systemic resources. We know students facing barriers to success require interview skills training, resume and cover letter writing support, increased visibility and direct access to career opportunities, an understanding of how to frame and expand on their experiences, and a robust support network in order to successfully launch and grow their tech careers. TAP addresses these needs via complementary programs: workshops, retreats, online tools and meetups, coaching and mentoring.

TAP Retreat: TAP Retreats are immersive 2.5 day experiences that cover everything a student will need to know about the industry, their personal skills, and the hiring process to be successful in their pursuit of a career in tech. The TAP Retreat consists of an evening focused on networking and understanding careers in tech, two days of skill-building sessions, and a take home packet of information to help with future growth.
